Cartier is a pioneering brand when it comes to stylish watchmaking, boasting of an inimitable combination of elegance, boldness, and passion. This year, the watch manufacturer launched the Clé de Cartier, introduced at the SIHH 2015 held in Geneva earlier this year. This is a new line of watch models that continues to uphold Cartier’s heritage of innovative crowns.

“Clé” translates to “key” in French, which makes the inspiration for this line obvious. Serving as the watch’s distinctive feature, the crown resembles a key. The design combines great aesthetics with high functionality: Its sapphire adornment contributes to its striking presence, and its generous dimensions make the watch easy to handle without sacrificing delicate details.

It’s not just the crown that the Clé de Cartier has it been going for. The general shape of the watch has been reinvented by using the simple circle shape as the basis and embellishing this framework with harmonious design elements and minimalist elegance. All models are fitted with the manufacturer’s new in-house automatic calibre (the 1847 MC).
