  • Know the brand's reference number so you're sure you get the right item - many sales don't allow for refunds or exchanges after
  • Check it's from an authorised retailer - this way you're sure the items are 100% genuine
  • Ask about aftercare and repairs for the future - you may need sizings on rings, or maybe length alterations
  • Does the item come with an original box?
  • Check whether the item comes with original maker's warranties
  • Look at the reviews for the shop to give you peace of mind in your purchase
  • Do check for any terms and conditions - sale purchases often have reduced availability of these - that's the trade off for the price
  • Know the original price of the item so you can tell it's a legitimate saving on the jewellery 
  • Is the business registered with a National trade association, a sign of good business practice and ethics
