Jacobs has been a part of Reading for almost 75 years and we have strong roots in the community. We work closely with the Royal Berks Charity here in Reading, Berkshire. Over the last decade we've raised over £150,000 for the Royal Berks Charity.

Not only this, we' serve our business + industry communities:

Business community - investing in Reading

Between 2016 + 2024 Adam Jacobs served Reading as Chair of the Reading Economy + Destination Agency, having been Chair of the central Business Improvement District. This has helped boost business, improve visitor perception and increase the quality of life for all in the Reading area.

Jewellery industry - giving back

For 10 years Jacobs have run its emerging jewellery and silversmith designer competition with the Bishopland trust, showcasing talented new talent in a pioneering regional competition. And in 2024, Adam Jacobs took over as Chair of the National Association of Jewellers, leading the organisation in raising standards, supporting over 1000 members, representing the industry at the highest levels and championing education.

2024

We've continued raising funds for the Royal Berks Hospital Charity, specifically to refurbish the cardiac care unit's outpatient waiting area. Our target is £40,000 and this year we've raised £7,000+ towards this, our total currently is £26,000. 2023

Historic fundraisers

We've raised money for local charities each year and have supported Launchpad in Reading, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, The Royal Families and Guide Dogs for the Blind in recent years.

In 2023 we supported the Royal Berks Charity once more in being principal business partner to raise £44,000 to buy 44 reclining chairs for the paediatric ward. These would replace ageing and uncomfortable camp beds that parents currently use when staying overnight with their children. Read more via the Charity, here. We achieved this target, and 44 chairs now reside in the ward.

In 2018, our 70th anniversary year, we ran a specific range of events called Seventy for Seventy, and raised over £93,500 for the Berkshire Cancer Centre, you can read about it here.

We are also committed to developing Reading as a place to live, work and play, with Adam Jacobs as Chairman of  Reading UK CIC. He also Chairs the National Association of Jewellers. Our roles in the wider Berkshire + jewellery communities are something we cherish and nurture.
